FRY-STEAM FISH SINIGANG



The perfect weeknight dinner. Short on time? Try this easy recipe, ready in under 10 minutes!


No marinades. Minimal prep. Short cook time. All delicious.


Bangus or milkfish is a classic pairing for sinigang in the Philippines. Instead of making a soup, we used our sinigang powder in place of salt to season the fish.

Fry-Steam Fish Sinigang

Serves 2-3.


Ingredients​​

  • 1 tbs Kusi sinigang seasoning

  • 1 lb fish fillet (we used boneless milkfish belly, one of our faves!)

  • 1/2 lb grape tomatoes, halved

  • 1/4 medium onion, sliced

  • Neutral oil



Directions

  1. Pat fish dry on the skin-side or the side you'll be frying

  2. Heat oil in cast-iron or any non-stick pan

  3. Over medium heat, place fish in pan and fry 5 minutes

  4. Sprinke Kusi seasoning then top with tomatoes and onions

  5. Lower heat and cover to steam about 3 more minutes

  6. Serve with rice or greens.
